Anyone experience side effects from PMSA test?

The title kind of says it all. 3 cores from biopsy show a Gleason 3+4. Dr. is recommending a PSMA test. Should I have concerns about the radioactive compound? Thx.

58yers old, Gleason 3+3, AS since 2021. Had it two months ago. No issues to report from the injection. Took a nap during the scan.

I had zero side effects from the PSMA PET scan.

Good to hear you both had no side effects. I was curious about how large a dose of radiation one gets from the test. It's not huge, but it's not nothing either. Articles I found indicated that the lowest know level of annual radiation exposure that increases one's chance of getting cancer is 100,000 uSieverts (uSV). PSMA test can be as much as 23,000 per test. I guess no more than 4 tests a year! A cross country airline round trip is 80. I also hope you both had negative results from your tests.
