My wife had gamma knife treatment six years ago at the age of 86. Her AN is 3cm and the treatment has stopped it growing and reduced its size slightly. A year ago the surgeon signed her off. She does have severe balance problems and walks with a rollator for support. Also occasional severe face aches, though these may be the result of the fact that she has a shunt because the AN had caused hydrocephalus. Generally she is very fit for her age and we consider the gamma knife to have extended her life.
I've had mine 40 Years now, I weighed up the chances of the surgeon cockin it up..I've gone thru many stages. If they do cock it up u cud be very much worse off there are many nerves that can get accidentally cut. Your decision and you sign for it.
