Well in less than 24h I will know what I have squatting in my head. I know it's strange but I have come to terms with what it will be, bad or really bad. My family on the other hand are having a hard time dealing with it (trying not to show me).

For me personally I always deal with things one step at a time (like I have said before) in a logical manner. Let's see what comes.

One thing I would like to say is if you are finding yourself in the same situation as I am keep strong and role with it believe me you and I are stronger than we think 🙂

All the v best for today. It’s good it’s being looked at, tested & diagnosed. That’s 1/2 the work. Keep your spirits up I’m sure it will be ok. We are praying for you.

Hope you have someone else with you for support & so someone who can help take in all the info. If needed just ask for leaflets if possible so you can read it later. Or even contact details of someone in the medical team if you have questions etc.

Take care & keep us updated, when you can! We are praying for you.

Well that's that done with. I have opted for surgery and not radiology. Looking like mid November for the removal of the 2.9 X 2.7 cm squatter 💪

Onwards and upwards 🙂

That’s the spirit. Bravo. It’s been spotted there’s a plan & the NHS is actually wonderful in their medical expertise.

Wow Nov that’s quite soon, with Covid thought they maybe delaying stuff so That’s good they are doing it sooner. Think there are some who are kept hanging.

God give you strength & courage as I know it’s different for everyone. Oh yes you are logical (like me I recall). I’m sure you’ll be fine. We are all pitching for you . Take care & seek support & help from friends & family. I know they maybe weak too but am sure will help if you need a chat. And we are here & think the admin team have call/help lines too. Take care. Good morning Dave

Just checking in to see how you are doing? Have you got a date for your surgery yet?

Thinking of you and your family,

Hi thanks for the thoughts ☺️. No set date yet but been told the operation will be mid November and I have a team meeting on the 14th of October to see the full team. I am in a good place to be honest with you however I'm sure I will become more nervous closer to the time. Fingers crossed by Christmas I will have the little fella gone 😊

Hello

In the meantime concentrate on keeping as well as is possible for you - eat healthily, get plenty of sleep and gentle (but regular) exercise! If it was me, I'd be sorting as many Christmas jobs out as I could - cards written and ready to post, similarly presents, stock up the freezer, sort out and source a reading list ( I enjoy audiobooks, when I can't read text) or Netflix/ Amazon Prime type watchlist.

Are you still at work? I was when I was first diagnosed, so I let a few people know what was happening and planned some stuff I could do at home if sick leave turned out to be a bit longer than anticipated.

Also, talk to your family/loved ones - at our support group, there are lots of people (patients and their supporters) who wished they'd spoken more instead of 'shielding' each other from their fears about what might happen.

Stay safe and well,

Tabby

I am still working however been told not to climb 100m towers till after the opp. I usually work between 12 - 16 hour shifts on a two week on two week off rotation ( starting back tomorrow, I like normality 🙂). Luckily I have a super organized wife so she will do the Christmas stuff 🤣

Hi Dave--s

Thats really good that your appointment is soon, i was recently diagnosed with 27mmx22mm acoustic neuroma and saw surgeons 3 weeks ago for treatment. They said i needed surgery and they couldnt give me an approximate date as covid has put so many operations back. They thought it would most likely be next year. So its good your hospital is able to give you earlier surgery hopefully. Hope all goes well for you. Its good to know others are in the same situation as i find it all quite daunting and nerve racking!
