Yes I believe it is. I had G. K. when mine was 11 mm x 6 mm.

Hi Not always a sign of size, often just depending what it is nearest to, to touch or press against that can cause numerous and varied symptoms not necessarily associated with size

Mine was pressing on the blood supply to the brain stem - consultant said surgery was "quite urgent". Hope your outcome is good. Keith

I had a AN removed in 1989 , prior to the OP. I had a numbness down one side of my face [LHS] which was more noticeable during the winter,

Regarding ''strange sensation of the tongnue'' after 20yrs+ i still have a [strange sensation] on oneside of the Tongue , i would get servere tongue blistering [and still do] it would appear to me it all depends on the type of Food i eat [spicy food - high sugar content]

I've no idea why i just try to avoid food that brings on the problem.

Regarding the first question 6/8 weeks is about normal to wait for a 'scan' .I hope everything goes well!!

With regards to the rarity of AN i have come across 6 others who have had a similar OP

[ all be it in 20yrs +]

I would advise you that it takes a few months to fully recover after the [OP] i do hope these comments will help .

Good Luck

Hi mine was 3.5cm diagnosed in May and operated on in August. I was told that 2.5cm was the max for Gama-knife so the op seemed to be the only option for me. I did have some face numbness and tongue tingling before and it's similar now. My double vision has corrected over Christmas, which is great, I just have to master balance again and clear up the pins and needles in my right side and I'm all done. There is no hiding that there are challenges with this illness but they have to be faced and my two consultants have been great. Sad to see that Michael Schumacher may have to face some of these challenges too. All the best and keep asking questions, I find that someone is always willing to help xx
