Rhyme or Reason

Reading all the post on here , I am struggling sometimes to find rational reasoning behind T , mine does not seem to be as bad as some , but quite how you put a level on it I don't know , seems everybody has a different theory as to the reason for it starting , mine has been gradually getting worse over the last few months , from being hardly noticeable , to now being mildly intrusive into everyday life , the last couple of days it seems to have turned up a notch but I am struggling to put any reason to this? , my biggest fear is this will carry on turning up , and maybe that is fueling it , will carry on trying to put it to the back of my head , I am enjoying this forum and the support others have given , best wishes to all , keith

Hi Kieth,

There is pleanty of good reading on the topic within this platform. It dose get compartmentalized so you have to dig a bit.

There are 3 or 4 people posting or replying that are well informed and offer better advice than the doctors.

Still, to date, the answer lies within.

Causes are many, making a cure elusive. It’s a symptom, not a disease. The symptom is a perception, making it hard to quantify.

There are solutions for climate change but they aren’t practical. There could be solutions for this but it’s not practical for academia or the medical industry to solve it.

The noise you hear is irritation or failing of some part of the nerve path from you inner ear to the areas of the brain that process sound sensations. Because the brain works unilaterally, it’s hard to nail it down. If you can cure the cause, you stand a chance at stopping the T. If not, you will need to learn to ignore it best you can, regardless of how crazy loud and uncomfortable it can get.

Mine is at a dibilitating level, so I’ve been searching everywhere for answers. I know I’ll need to give up soon if I hope to acclimate to my condition. If you can imagine, I look at my vertigo as being buzzed. The wringing as a party in my head, and the research as a pacifier.

This website is a good place to vent or relate but I fear there are only a few active participants.

Have you had your hearing checked Carpenter? If your hearing is deteriorating, your brain will turn up the volume, trying to search for the bits it's not longer receiving, but in doing so it turns up the T as well.

I had my hearing checked a year or so ago , and I have some construction noise damage / hearing loss , but I am not longer in main stream construction so I don't think there is anything to deteriorate it , am waiting on ent appointment in feb to see what they say ,
