The high pitched ringing is so loud now that I need some professional help. The issue is I live in Dubai and do not trust the doctors here as they are all private practitioners and it is not easy to pick ones that are not chasing $'s.

Any suggestions on where to get help, I am happy to travel to Europe as long as it is a good clinic with good Doctors

I don’t think he suggested he had anything like what you have.

Ok, I’m reading between the lines here but here goes...tell me off if you think I’m out of order..

Although I’ve moved on and found plenty of positives in my life, I remember how awefull I felt 6 years ago when I got my screech. I’m a musician and I thought it was the end of the world. At the time my situation may have seemed less significant to others compared with what they have been through, but the suffering was very real.

So it’s good to provide support to people on any level provided they are also prepared to help themselves.

Hi David, I can’t recimmend anyone in particular but I would say, if you are worried about it then you are right to follow the professional medical track as it may eliminate any morbid fears you have about it

In the meantime you might find my experiences interesting...and it’s free...

Hello and welcome to the British Tinnitus Association forum. Do feel free to ask any questions, I hope that you find this a helpful and supportive place to help you manage your tinnitus.

I'm sorry it's taken a while to respond, but I've been on annual leave.

We have some resources that you might like to check out in addition to our home here:

tinnitus.org.uk

takeontinnitus.co.uk

- this basically covers a lot of what an audiologist or hearing therapist should cover when you see them for tinnitus management, and it's free

Helpline 0800 018 0527 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm) (outside the UK you can call +44 (0)114 250 9922)

Warmest wishes
