🙂 There have been previous discussions, type Thrush in the searchbox (above right) to see links.
You could try acidophilus probiotics, designed to help thrush and help the gut along the way too x
Hi - I suffer all the time. Any change to my washing powders soaps or even changing toilet roll can set me off. Expensive but affective is a canesten thrush oral tablet.
I know it’s hard but don’t touch. The more you touch or itch it the worse it gets. When you pee pat dry rather than wipe.
I hope this helps. Really feel for you
I just realised you said the treatment doesn’t work. Use some natural yogurt down there. Also, thrush basically means that your vagina is super clean and the natural bacteria has gone so you should google natural ways to get bacteria down there
I tried everything u could think off , I had it since 2017....I’m scared to tell my partner and family. Should I change my diet?
You have had thrush since 2017?! Not constantly surely? Thrush isn’t anything to be ashamed of. Why wouldn’t you tell you partner. Have you seen a GP?
You should tell you partner because you could be passing the thrush back and fore. I’m going through this just now with my wife.
What’s your wife doing about it?
She contacted the doctors who gave her canesten cream and a tablet type thing that she had to put in her vagina with a tool supplied. She had only to insert the tablet once but use the cream 2 - 3 times a day. She seems to be clear now. My thrush keeps coming back. I’m on a 3 month course of anti fungal cream. If this doesn’t work I may need to get an operation. We are both type 2 diabetic.
That’s what the doctor give me and it never work , it worked for like 2days then it came back.
How long did you use the cream for? My issues are that thrush is causing me to get balanitis which is an infection on the head of my penis and foreskin. Every time I used cream it would clear but as soon as I stopped using it I would flair up in a couple of days. The last time I was at the doctors about it I was given a strong steroid anti fungal cream (canesten HC clotrimazole hydrocortisone acetat )to use constantly for 3 weeks to clear the infection. (that is the maximum time for using this strong cream) then I had to go immediately on to a plain clotrimazole 1% anti fungal cream for 3 months constantly. I was told that if at the end the thrush still came back that I may need to have an operation.
The way that the doctors explained it to me was thrush is a fungal infection. The cream clears the infection but won’t touch the fungus spores. The spores only live for so long then they die off. So by using the cream in the way described you kill the infection and prevent the spores from developing into thrush until they die off. If you don’t apply the cream constantly 2-3 times a day and let the spores grow into a fungus you have to go back to square one. Makes sense when you think about it.
I used the cream for 3/5days like what the doctor told me
I think you need to see your doctor for a referral to a vulval clinic. If you have been treating this for 3 years and it's not responding to treatment, it's not likely you have thrush.
Your GP needs to do swabs to test for thrush, but it's more likely you'll have dermatitis or vulvodynia. If that is the case, continuing thrush treatment will be making things worse for you.
I don’t have dermatitis or vulvodynia cause it’s not hurting or itcy etc
So when you say thrush, are you basing this on discharge alone?
Yes
Ok, so discharge with no pain or itching. Does the discharge smell pungent, or is it not too bad?
Does it happen more at specific times of month?
Is it heavy or light?
What you describe could just be regular discharge that occurs post-ovulation. The week before you ovulate, you will have a clear, sticky discharge, and after ovulation you will typically get a dry, slightly creamy-white discharge.
The smell is not to bad....it comes all the time every 2/5mins. I don’t what to do. It gets to so much , like I tired everything to get rid of it. Now I’m just clueless
It could be caused by an imbalance if your having sexual intercourse
