Time to get going again. Here's a resource.

I know it's cliche, but it's a new year and I'm the kind of person that makes resolutions (you achieve more than you would have without a goal; you should take any opportunity, even silly ones, to build momentum toward doing something rather than nothing, etc., etc.).

As you guessed it, one of those goals has to do with fitness, both diet and exercise. The exercise bit will be focused on the gym, primarily super-sets of compound lifts. I think it's inevitable that I'll miss sessions, so I thought I'd try to supplement my exercise with some HIIT (high intensity interval training) and recently came across what looks like a helpful resource for that.

The Times have developed a web app with a 7-minute workout. There's a basic workout and a more advanced one. Here's what they say, "An article in the May-June issue of the American College of Sports Medicine’s Health & Fitness Journal does just that. In 12 exercises deploying only body weight, a chair and a wall, it fulfills the latest mandates for high-intensity effort, which essentially combines a long run and a visit to the weight room into about seven minutes of steady discomfort — all of it based on science."

To read the article go here: well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013...

To 'install' the app go here: well.blogs.nytimes.com/2014...
