Climate change is a real crisis that each of us grows in awareness to put an end to animal killings exploitation for food and fashion industry. Iโ€™m so ecstatic yet again to see vegans live truly to the meaning of being harmonious with this planet ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒŽ โค๏ธ.

One of the Top fashion industry mogul Stella McCartney collaborated with Material solutions company Bolt Threads to engineer mycelium into a material for all animal cruelty- free and environmental friendly products: โ€œResearchers developed Mylo by reproducing mycelium in a lab using mulch, water, air, and 100 percent renewable energy. The process takes days, rather than the years it takes to produce animal leather.โ€

Stella McCartney herself revealed the truth of conventional leather making to the press that it took 17,000 liters of water to produce 1 kg of leather and 70 to 80 percent of the Amazonโ€™s deforested areas used for cattle pastures.

According to Compassion in world farming organization, truth reveals that just like anywhere else in the world, 73 percent of farmed animals in the UK are deprived from air, natural light, kept in overcrowded factory farms that they lost their abilities of natural behaviors.

Here is the link you can see on the map how not only cattle but also poultry (meat chickens and laying hens), dairy, and pig farms in UK factory just like many mega factory animal farms in the US:

Thank you for this article, I hadnโ€™t heard of mushrooms being used as leather. I donโ€™t buy or use any clothes, accessories, toiletries or anything that is made from animals. Itโ€™s interesting how different plants are being used now to make clothes. Cotton is from a plant, but itโ€™s as if no one thought to use other plants. It hadnโ€™t actually occurred to me that other plants can be used. Recently Iโ€™ve seen clothes made from banana leaves, and a few weeks ago I bought my mum a t-shirt made of seaweed. She said itโ€™s incredibly soft material. It looks just like cotton.

Iโ€™m happy to share and thank you for doing your part to contribute to green planet! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

Nowadays, there are so many innovative technologies that create plant based products for consumers. We already know how bamboo, cotton, coconuts are used in our daily lives. Cottons are very popular and adored by many. Komodo fabric is used for couch as I chose for my house. Who knew that bamboo is made into socks, so soft and breathable material. Thank you for letting us know banana leaves are clothing materials now that we donโ€™t only use in cooking. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Seaweed has been known for one of the cheapest material to be made into containers that costs only 2 cents to make and one of the resources available in any coastlines that doesnโ€™t require fresh water or fertilizers, through biodegrade can turn into consumer goods. Not only they are made into shirts but also water resistant and organic insulation solution.

Itโ€™s fascinating and joyful for me to know we are making great changes and impact to conserve resources for our planet. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐ŸŒŽโค๏ธ

Somehow I forgot about bamboo, I have socks ๐Ÿงฆ made of bamboo.

Arenโ€™t they so soft and comfortable? ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

I forgot to mention also for skincare, cold press argon oil just does the job ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ, no toxicity all around. โค๏ธ

Bamboo socks really are so soft and comfortable.

All the skincare products I buy are natural products suitable for vegans. (Happily I use an online shop where everything is vegan, which makes it much easier to be confident a product will be suitable for vegans) I havenโ€™t used argan oil for skincare, Iโ€™ll look for that. Thank you for the suggestion. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™m so glad you found reliable online source to choose vegan products. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Same here we have a well known online source that carries all vegan products from head to toes, even sunblocks that qualified free of chemicals. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I love argon oil as it is 100 percent pure oil with nothing else in it and reasonable price in large tinted glass bottle . You can always get a sample and try out. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ‘

I have a pair of pineapple leather trainers I bought in Lisbon when I was on holiday 3 yrs ago. They are just as comfortable and waterproof as any other shoes I have! They are made by Nae.

Thank you Wbrig for sharing with us this great information and contribute to green planet. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

I didnโ€™t know that pineapple could be turned into waterproof shoes that are just comfortable. Iโ€™ll definitely look into Nate brand to see more of their products.

Hope you have a joyful day! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Nowadays these companies understand that consumers have a choice and we take strong stand in choosing animal cruelty free products and environmental friendly to sustain this planet. What we do here, choosing vegan diet already reduced 73 percent carbon foot print. According to Loma Linda University (a respectable medical school in Southern California) study, vegans have the smallest carbon footprint, generating a 41.7 percent smaller volume of greenhouse gasses than meat-eaters do and a 13.9 percent smaller volume than vegetarians:

Animal cruelty and violence comes in all shape and forms that we canโ€™t turn blind eyes anymore. Recent scientific study shows for horse racing game, these poor animals suffer the same pain as we human get whipped. If only each individual refuses to participate in these activities, we can live and enjoy among all living things of this beautiful planet. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Completely agree, sadly I think we are still along way from stopping such cruetly. In my opinion we need tougher laws to act as a deterrent. As you say animals have feelings too and that includes farm animals. We should all live in peace

Yes Debs, great point in law enforcement in regulation for these places. You know for instance, the battle of prohibition of foie gras has been dealt in Los angles for so long on and off, itโ€™s so sad to see now they allow third party to sell here ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ while New York completely banned it.

I understand Vegan diet is still very foreign to many and so it is not getting the right attention as much as it deserves up to this point.

It's great to see fashionable items can be made with the mushroom๐Ÿ˜Š...Climate change is happening now and requires immediate action. This is a great step, as I see more and more animal based items being replaced with plant based material. Thanks for spreading this awareness๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™.

Yes Zazen, itโ€™s a huge movement in LA as of right now Vegan Fashion Week returns for the second year that founder Emmanuelle Rienda with her mission to make LA, the capital of vegan fashion in the world. No animals, no fur, no living things will have to sacrifice for our taste.

On top of that, just in August during this pandemic, the Martha Project has served 6000 Vegan meals to houseless people in LA with all volunteers that they can deliver homemade with high vegan quality to the unfortunates. These kind of news give me motivation and meaning to my actions along my life journey. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒŽโค๏ธ
