In season for June

Happy June everyone.

Is anyone growing any vegetables? I’ve got a few things on the go in a very small patch. We have peas, broadbeans, onions, purple carrots, spinach, courgettes, tomatoes, lettuce and potatoes in a tub. I think I’ll have to catch things whilst they are small so they don’t take over and swamp each other 🙂

Here is what we have to look forward to this month 😋

Apricots

Blueberries (coming into season)

Cherries

Kiwi fruit

Raspberries (coming into season)

Strawberries (coming into season)

Tomatoes (coming into season)

Artichokes (globe) (coming into season)

Asparagus

Aubergines

Broad beans (in season mid-June)

Carrots

Courgettes (coming into season)

Fennel (coming into season)

New potatoes

Pak choi (in season end of June)

Peas

Peppers

Rocket

Spinach (end of main season)

Spring onions

Turnips (summer season crop in season)

Watercress

Happy eating 😋

Ali 🌱🙂

Hi Ali

I love the look of your veg patch, I've spoken to my hubby and want to make some raised bed in our garden so we can grow some, nothing like your own produce is there.

That's a good list of fruit and vegetables for this month - yummy.

Thank you for sharing. :)

Alicia :)

Wow Ali, thats fantastic - you must be so organised to grow all that lovely veg.

I attempt to grow some runner beans, but it didn't go well : >

Oh really, that’s a shame. Well it’s Phil really rather that me. He is the one with the green fingers!

That looks really good. I've got some blueberries in pots but they need cutting back to encourage a better crop as they've got a bit straggly. I've also got one chili in a pot for my hubby (I don't like chilies), some chard, broccoli, peas and rocket, also all in pots! I did grow some pea shoots to eat as salad but need to plant some more. (They are really easy to grow - just need a pack of dried peas for about 50p from the grocery section - and put lots in a small pot with compost, and in a couple of weeks they start to sprout!) Alys Fowler did them on a gardening show the Edible Garden several years ago and they repeated it on one of the lock down shows a few weeks ago

I'll have to post another picture when it all grows and it's a jumbled jungle 😂
