I thought that this would be of interest to some as it shows that market forces want not only vegan options but dedicated vegan eateries. They have many options and I'm fascinated by the use of banana blossom as a substitute for fish but it's had good reviews so here's a link to the vegan chippie in Hackney:
This looks great. I would like to try this. Maybe it will quickly catch on. You can buy Banana blossom on line in a tin but it’s quite expensive. Apparently it’s very similar to artichoke. Our fish and chip shop started to do deep fried halloumi which I loved and I only had it once and then became vegan so now there is nothing I can have. So this would be great.
This is fantastic Jerry, I am so pleased. This was on the menu at my favourite cafe (where I had that gorgeous roast) I am really over the moon, I always think fish don't get much love so this has really made my day. Thank you Jerry
Sounds good Jerry. We are in London in November so will try and visit it. Also the Unity Diner (Earthling Ed enterprise) a non for profit eatery, has just opened in Shoreditch so that's one for my list. All profits going to Surge, a grassroots animal charity.
I live in Conwy North Wales, and aside from in Bangor our nearest Univetsity town there are no vegan restaurants in our vicinity and very few of the others offer a decent choice of vegan food . Usually it's a salad , veg or potatoes !
I hope you enjoy your time in London and please give feed back on any vegan eateries, obviously things change in the cities first but the plant based genes is out of the bottle thats for sure.
