Some information from Benefits and Work regarding PIP (Personal Independence Payment)
just done the self assement for pip. According to the way questions are worded will go from low rate care high mobility to nothing.Since i qualified for dla my condtion has worsened especially over the last 3 months . There are no question around hosuework and if you can walk with any other aid that using a wheelchair looks like mobilty is also out of the question. I got low rate care as needed help with lifting pots etc but if can sti k a meal in micor wave or prepare meal for one no hel I know cannot hoover with out extrem breathlesness I dont carry thing up and down stairs beacause of 1 breathlessness two weakness in knees legs none of this is taken ino account. Perhaps I should get put down now. If I loose mobilty cannot get around cannot continue workreally fed up
So sorry to hear that Kath. I would suggest you try and get some help from a local Welfare advice centre. You shold also complain to your MP, he's there to help you! not 'toe the party line'. Ask him to raise your case with the Minister. Mine did.
