Persistent proteinuria in urine.Any experience.
If your daughter has received all the tests for kidney function and has experienced some degree of kidney failure it is not unusual to experience proteinuria in the urine. The important thing is that the kidneys and the MPA are monitored closely. I think it might be a good idea to talk to John again, If you send all the details to John by email jandsmills@btinternet.com John will discuss them with a doctor who specialises in Paediatric Vasculitis here in the UK..
Susan
thank Susan
I always have around ++blood and +++protein in my urine. This prompted a kidney biopsy which showed evidence of scarring from when the Vasculitis was active. For me this causes no problems whatsoever but like Susan says, I don' t think it's unusal and just means that the kidney function should be regularly monitored.
All the best,
Richard.
Hi Tamidi.
I think it depends on the amount of protein detected. Small amounts are generally not an issue but it may be that your doctor is worried that the levels have risen above an acceptable amount and wants to treat it before it gets any worse and causes problems. High levels of protein may not indicate active vasculitis but I think they can mean that there are kidney problems going on that do need to be looked into and treated.
last check up protein in urine negative.Thank God.I hope it will be forever.
