If you have had covid and contacted a medical professional/hospital what medication/treatments were you offered?
Please select one:
I think it worked. I had a couple of y uncomfortable days and felt very tired for about a week after that.
I wasn’t offered any as it was considered that I was doing ok without them and they have their own set of side effects. I was contacted every day for about 4 days to see how I was.
I received a phone call to say someone would contact me about treatment, but no one called. I called them, but they said I was 'on a list'. I obviously never got to the top of it! I was very unwell and tested positive for 12 days, but fortunately recovered.
I was on a cruise at the time, although the medical team was supposed to call our room every day to check our health no one did.
It took an awful long time for me to feel better I eventually did.
my partner had anti viral but I can’t remember the name, January this year
I was given Paxlovid, it was delivered on the day I tested positive. It worked quickly, however, a few days after testing negative I developed Covid again (rebound Covid) it was 11 days before I tested negative again.
Sotrovimab for me. I believe it worked very well for me.
I live in the USA so I probably shouldn’t vote but I asked my rheumatologist if he would subscribe paxlovid, and he did. I think it worked well - my symptoms were not too bad. I didn’t have a vasculitis flare. I had a booster vac about 4 months previous and Rituxan infusion about a month before that.
I did a PCR with kit provided and tested positive. I was contacted by a Doctor who said my immunosuppresion wasn’t enough to warrant antivirals. I agreed . My Covid symptoms only really lasted 2 days. Tested Positive for 5.
rearly had no symptoms and not unwell. I was only testing because my mum was in hospital . Tested positive for 14days and had infusion of first day I tested positive
beptelovimab infusion
Definitely worked for me - I wasn’t too bad (fatigue, brain fog & headache) but started coughing up blood clots on Day 2. Tested negative from Day 4 and clots went soon after. Hopefully that’s me done now. Don’t need the T shirt 😁🤣
Paxlovid
Consists of two medicines, (nirmatrelvir and ritonavir) 2 tabs of one and 1 tab of the other taken 12 hrs apart for 5 days.
I had no side-effects. Was like having a common cold except I had some brain fog and felt random sharp jabs of pain in random areas of my head. It came and went very fast just caused me to wince. Dealt with that for 2 days. Took me 10 days before having a negative Ag test, taking the at-home test every 2-3 days after first positive.
Didn't hear back so not offered anything
I am on 2 grams Mycrophenalate and 1o mg pred daily. No antibodies ( got tested privately). Finally caught it in April. Couldn’t have paxlovid as on thyroxine and it causes a bad interaction. Had solutrimab at Westminster Hospital in London snd had a horrid week. Felt terrible.
However I read that NHS cutting back on the anti virals (£££) so am really worried about what happens if/when I catch it - again.
My nephew who’s a hospital consultant says numbers are well up.
I’m fed up with being careful. Been CEV and decided life’s too short.
i was offered but never said which one
I was given sotrovimab, though the Dr said the WHO don't recommend it anymore as it isn't effective against the newer variants. The first few days were very rough, but I tested negative after 2.5 weeks. I couldn't have Paxlovid as I am on blood pressure and blood thinning medications. I have GPA and am 71 years old.
I was offered antivirals if I got worse- not sure which one. I wasn’t poorly enough
I had Paxlovid, which was very effective. Unfortunately, I got rebound Covid, which is a known risk. Second go around was not as bad as the first, but now my (minor) symptoms seem to be hanging on. We'll see what happens.
Whoops! Just saw this was UK only. I'm in the US. Please strike my Other vote and comment.
Hi. Had covid in January. Positive lateral flow so sent in the pcr test that I had at home. After 2 or 3 days a hospital doc rang me and chatted about how I was and we decided that I wasn’t bad enough to be dragged out to a hospital and infused with something (didn’t name the drug). I agreed. He mentioned that out of all those that had been contacted only about 10% were treated with anti virals. My own surgery checked up on me a day or 2 later and I escaped on day 11 after 2 negative tests in a row. 🤗
paxlovid
I contacted the NH S and they were really prompt in their reaction, I was at the James Paget hospital the next day for the Sotrovimab infusion and I have to say I think it saved me from being too ill, I was tired and fatigued for quite a while, but because of my GPA, I am anyway, so hard to say if it was covid or my condition, but I believe it helped me
I’ve had Covid three times and had sotrovimab x 1 and Paxlovid x 2
thank you for all your votes and replies they have been very useful
Ivermectin and ABX. The Ivermectin stopped progression of virus in 24hrs. Was off portable oxygen 2 days after Ivermectin treatment began.
