I suffer from severe chronic pain and neuropathy from fibromyalgia (diagnosed in 2015 at age 52) which is complicated by polymyalgia rheumatica, osteoarthritis and degenerative disk disease, two herniated disks at L4-L5, chronic fatigue, hypothyroidism, sleep disturbances, memory and cognitive delay, irritable bowel syndrome, stomach bloating, frequent urination, balance issues, depression and anxiety, Most all of these health issues, except depression and anxiety, developed in sync with the fibromyalgia. High doses of gabapentin and prednisone for one year, though helpful, have not fully relieved the pain. I will be switching to Lyrica soon to see if it offers more relief. Warm pool therapy, gentle walking and continued use of Percocet for severe pain have helped me to cope with this illness. However, now one full year without working, I plan to apply for Social Security Disability in the USA.

Neuropathy is one of my most horrid symptoms from my lupus like autoimmune disease. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy, it can be excruciating at times 😪

What is foot drop? My partner has wegeners and his biggest problem is chronic pain in his ankles/feet which has been diagnosed as peripheral neuropathy. One of his feet is much more painful than the other and has become quite deformed as in it has dropped and sort of turns inwards. Is this what you have?

Foot drop is when you completely lose all the sensation in your foot as the nerves are damaged and so you can't even stand up. the foot just drops from the ankle and is floppy. Thankfully my nerves grew back but they are rather deformed, very flat and I have hammer toes on one of them. They were also very sore and that has eased quite a bit. I wear very steep innersoles and get shoes made for me by the hospital's mobility team.

I don't fully understand neuropathy. I do suffer from chronic pain without prednisolone. I became quite immobile through pain when weaned from the hate Prednisolone.

I have neuropathy in my feet and hands, but only occasional, sometimes severe, pain.  I also get  bad cramp in my legs and feet 3 or 4 times a month.

Yes, in my feet especially.  I also suffered with foot drop, which is now back to normal, but pain in both feet is excrutiating by the end of the day!

I was diagnosed with GPA in April 2011.  In May 2012, I developed a severe case of shingles.  Now nearly four years later I still suffer the pain from the damaged nerves, post-herpetic neuralgia, which is with me 24/7.  No matter how many drugs I take, the pain never leaves me.

Definitely severe chronic pain, but not proven yet that it's due to neuropathy but odd coincidence

CSS/EGPA, Mono-neuritis multiplex, affecting both legs, especially the left leg and foot, plus occasional lightning leg/foot cramps. Some twinges in hands also. Fairly chronic constant pain, tingling, partial numbness for about 7 months after diagnosis. Most severe in the first 4 months (difficult to walk, needed walker/crutches and PT to walk again), but it has started to taper down and I no longer need pain meds every day, just occasionally now it is 10 months after diagnosis.
