Desensitizing self to pollen allergies

All my life when spring comes around I cannot breath, eyes feel horrific, sinuses are screwed, everything sucks during the best time of the year... Is there anyway I can expose my self to pollen before the spring starts in a attempt to make myself immune to pollen allergies? If so, how would I go about exposing my self to pollen now?

My doctor says sublingual (under-the-tongue) desensitization drops are the most effective way to reduce your pollen allergies. I'd find an allergist and ask about those! Shots work too. I'm not sure what's more common in the UK (I'm in France where everyone does sublingual :) )

When I was younger my allergist had me take 1 tablespoon of raw honey every day. It needs to be from a beekeeper within a 5 miles radius from where you live and preferably still have the honeycomb in it.
