Has anyone else struggled with the 2nd AstraZeneca jab?

I had the jab 6 weeks ago and still have Tinnitus, headache and terrible sinus pain. On steroids for the first time.

I struggled with the first one a lot (pretty bad reaction, facial swelling and full body hives, etc.), to the point where my allergist who looks after my MCAS said I'm not allowed the second one.

Had seemingly less issues with Pfizer though (save for a small asthma attack which was dealt with via Ventolin). Did have an uptick in MCAS issues though so went on prednisolone.

I’ve lost my hearing with it.

Has it come back? I have hearing loss/tinnitus/auditory processing issues anyway, and haven't noticed a change personally. Must be upsetting for you.

So far my hearing hasn’t come back. Literally with in 6 hours of the jab I developed a headache and my hearing went. Trying steroids but no luck so far.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Can I ask if you spoke to the doctor about having the vaccine first? Asking because I was advised not to have the vaccine as the benefits were outweighed by the risks of a bad reaction. (this was the doctor dealing with my SM not my GP)

Yes I did but my GP said it would be fine.

So sorry for your ongoing hearing loss. It is quite scary, isn’t it ? Is it complete or partial loss?

Several years ago a reaction to general anaesthetic caused similar problems for me . Not complete loss, but quite substantial until the reactions to various medications subsided . I do have some hearing back but now have hearing aids.

In your situation I would ask for an urgent referral to an audiology specialist .

Hope you get a resolution soon.

Thank you for the advice. I’m going to call the GP. They wanted to continue Steriods which I’m not keen on.

I never regained my hearing after the vaccine. Having hearing aids fitted this month.
