I'm here to help my dear, wonderful friend find supportive peers who have also struggled with the PTSD that came from the trauma of MCAS. She's working to end an alcohol dependency that's emerged to grapple with this PTSD.
I'm deeply grateful to anyone who might be willing to speak with her to discuss how they've worked to manage their PTSD and become sober. She has told me she thought speaking with someone who has succeeded at this could be very helpful, but it's currently too triggering for her to reach out direction.
I appreciate that this is an anonymous forum, so it may be asking a lot for someone to trust speaking to a stranger about their own deeply personal challenges.
Thank you for your time!

You are such a wonderful friend helping - I cant even imagine how overwhelming it must be for your friend.
I hope that someone on the page can talk to your friend and help with some coping mechanisms. I don’t suffer from PTSD and have only recently been diagnosed with MCAS so don’t feel I would be much help.
I also wanted to share this page with you - perhaps you could help arrange some professional support also? mind.org.uk/need-urgent-hel... there are so many resources out there - sometimes the hard part is sifting through them when you are already in crisis mode - but that’s where the best friend (you!) can help.
Thank you so much for your kind, thoughtful message, and for helping out my friend. I'll check out the resource that you shared. Many thanks.
I wish you the best fortune and good progress with your MCAS. Seems like you've found one of the best communities to get support from. Sending positive energy and gratitude to you.
I should have also said there is a lot of support for those with alcohol dependencies even in lockdown - let me know if you need help finding a suitable group
