A very significant piece of legislation has been introduced this week. H.R. 5534 is the immunosuppressive drug bill. It will ensure that financial coverage will be provided by the federal government to pay for immunosuppressive drugs for the life span of the transplanted kidney. You can help by asking your congressional delegate to co sponsor H.R. 5534. Go to House.gov and type in your Zip code and it will tell you who your representatives are. Email them let them know you want them to co sponsor the bill. Follow up the next week with a call to the congressional office and talk to the congressional or legislative aid asking them to review the bill with your congressman or women. The more people who write and call from within the District shares the importance of the bill. This must be passed so please get busy and write and call.
