Looking for information for financial assistance other than SSI with medications required post kidney transplant. Has anyone used HiCap? I do not qualify for SSI, Medi-Cal, and my insurance will not cover all the meds required. I have been told that until I have a financial plan in place, I will not be considered for transplant. Thank you for any info!

I am really baffled by your post and I will tell you why. If your kidney function is at 15 or below you would qualify for Medicare automatically. That would cover your post transplant prescriptions. They should have informed you of that. Did you see s social worker at the transplant center? You should have. Also, you should also qualify for social security disability (ssdi) if you have a work history. Also you get Medicare for 3 years post transplant.

Not what you're looking for?
