Today is Blue Monday, why, it’s supposedly the day when everyone’s miserable. Also it’s Blue Monday because I like New Order and I don’t like Chris Grayling, in fact he’s really getting on my nerves, as are a lot of other Tories, if you haven’t heard Grayling and his Condemn buddies are planning to overturn the amendments to the Welfare Reform Bill that the Lords have made, also today the Lords will be looking at the plans to replace DLA (Disability Living Allowance) with PIP (Personal Independence Payment). Here’s an over view of PIP that I wrote sometime ago - tourettes-action.healthunlo... hopefully now that the Spartacus report ekklesia.co.uk/files/respon... is out in the open and there are more disabled people campaigning on line and getting their stories out there hopefully the Lords will do the same as last week and want to make amendments – I mean seriously, looking at the assessment criteria what person in their right mind would find it acceptable to only wash from the waist up, what person could be expected to live like that? That’s just the tip of the iceberg. If Grayling had his own way we would be sitting in the cold and dark on our own, feeling hungry and smelly. I would also like to contrast the “lifestyle” of a man living off Jobseeker’s allowance guardian.co.uk/society/2012... with the lifestyle of our very own Chris Grayling telegraph.co.uk/news/newsto... it’s quite ridiculous isn’t it? I’ve had an idea with regards to accommodation for MPs, due to the housing market slump there are quite a lot of empty apartments in certain up-market developments particularly around the Docklands, I think it would be a good idea if Westminster bought up a whole block of these apartments, enough to house all the MPs and rather than them claiming ludicrous expenses (a duck house? I ask you?) For their posh London pad they can stay in the flat they’ve been allocated whilst in London and then when their constituents vote them out, they move out, simples. I think this plan would save the tax payer an awful lot of money, enough to hire a lot of nurses, teachers, doctors, you know useful people.

For now all we can do is to just try and remind everybody what’s going on, the press this morning have published some articles that are discrediting the Spartacus report (DWP press releases) so please share what is good about DLA and how it helps you with Sue Marsh, diaryofabenefitscrounger.bl... hopefully we’ll be seeing her again on TV keep on posting your Facebook statuses and Tweeting, we need to get the Lords to see our point of view and how essential DLA is to us.
