I have lived with tinnitus for so long I really can’t remember where it started but it’s longer than 50 years.

I have learned to ignore it most of the time.

I have 75% loss in my right ear and 50% loss in the left.

I have hearing aids but they really don’t help as they amplify all the background noise and I still have hear what people are saying, lip reading is a little helpful.

I have to have text on the Tv or I will not know what is going on.

Over 30 years for me. I also need subtitles on the TV and I struggle to hear people in group situations or noisy environments. A pity we can't get real life subtitles!

My tinnitus started after I took a bad antibiotic as a junior in high school over 50 years ago. No significant hearing loss though, so sympathies for that, and thank you for sharing. I do remember how upset I was for several years and how deprived I felt for losing real silence.

Hi yes over 50 years deprived of silence for me too. But I am finding hearing aids working for me using shaped noise. It's far less of a distressing sound. As opposed to a horrible noise.
