So what has changed?

Never had tinnitus before until my wife was diagnosed with cancer. 6 months on thats all sorted, back to reality. Apart from this infernal ring in my head.

Something physiological or psychological must have changed to cause this ringing. The ringing pulses in tune to my heart beat so is it blood pressure related? All health checks are fine. Hate been this way. I beleive there is no cure and I'm stuck with for the rest of my days

Well I have the same...heartbeat in my ear (R) ringing in the left ear. I asked my doctor about BP with this pulsing. If there is no whooshing sound accompanying it it may include probs with BP but otherwise I wouldn't worry. I took my own BP at home and it was perfect. Still waiting for my ENT Appt. which my doc urgently referred me for but as yet nothing. They will almost certainly scan your head looking for anomalies but a lady on this forum was saying that thins like brain tumours are extremely rare....mine started last February out of the blue!!

I'm not going to worry about it anymore....oh, and another lady posted that her Pulsatile Tinnitus just went away after a while. I think if there was anything nasty going on we'd know about it by now. I'm pleased that your wife is ok now, Have a good day.

over the years that I’ve been on this site I’ve seen many many posts like yours. Tinnitus is very common, you possibly have pulsatile tinnitus which is less common. Read up about it on the Tinnitus UK website.

I believe that most people who’ve been on this site have habituated, and don’t want to come back here to be reminded of their unhappy experiences. So you might not get encouraging responses to your post

It’s quite possible that nothing caused your tinnitus, so there’s nothing to avoid other than loud noises if possible. Ive lived with it happily for sixty years.

Yes there’s no “cure” as such, no pill to take and don’t t believe anyone telling you there is, other from this site or tinnitus UK. Some people have been helped by Ginkgo, some by magnesium, talking therapies if it causes you anxiety and sleeplessness.

That would be Pulsatile Tinnitus. Have has that for s few months and went away after getting my earwax removed by an NHS hospital visit.Request that to your GP.

Hi,

Yes, it's PT and I've had both ears cleared of any wax...didn't make a blind bit of difference!

It's there and has made a nice little home there. So I'm just going to get on with it! Have a good day all.

Might be blocked sinuses causing that.Get that checked.

because of the immense shock of learning about your wife’s illness and all the stress you must have been under , this is why you experienced tinnitus. Tinnitus loves stress . Now you must try and relax if possible to possibly reduce it. Mine started after my mother and brother in law died 5 years ago go for plenty of long walks in the fresh air and it will help a little bit
