Itchy tinnitus hyperacusis

I have a itchy sore ear. Just my left ear. I have hypercusis fullness and loud tinnitus. I've a little wax in the ear, told to get it syringed

I'm worried to put anything in there due to my symptoms.

I think it's worse today as nhs did a pressure check .

It gets so bad somethings that I put my finger in to get a little relief.

Hello jamdonut

I would perhaps leave it for a while and maybe use a natural product just to ease the itchiness,,,, personally I am not a fan of syringing, microsuction as far to many people have become harmed using these methods….perhaps ask if it can be done manually with a curette especially with having hyperacusis…. The clinic I speak to refuse to do this if you have tinnitus and hyperacusis…. I just put a few drops of oil in my ears and let it come out naturally….

I hope this helps

Hello. Maybe you could try Ear Calm, it’s supposed to be good for itchy ears and helps to remove excess wax. It’s basically acetic acid so smells like vinegar. It might help. It’s for external ear infections. You can buy it over the counter.

I agree with Eleanor. There are reports that syringing can cause T or make it worse. I had it done once years ago , but I had to use oil drops for 2 weeks first . That way the wax is much softer and easier to float out. Often the oil drop works by itself and there is no need for syringing.
