Hello. Does anybody with T find nicotine in any form or Alcohol makes their T spike? In my case I chew Nicolette gum a lot! though I gave up for a month and didn’t reduce my T. Alcohol though does . I only drink now on holiday. Another interesting fact is air pressure affects my T. 3 days ago my T all but disappeared for 2 whole days and I was overjoyed though this morning it’s back to screaming T . I’ve habituated and accept it and it really makes me panic anymore but I do my best to not give it the platform it craves.

Hi Bellyboo
Both alcohol and tobacco are amongst the few dietary elements that medical science can confidently say have a negative effect on tinnitus, alcohol to some extent acting as a depressant and nicotine being related to inner ear damage: tinnitus.org.uk/understandi...
I like a wee drink and find alcohol reduces T for a few hours
I don’t smoke but like a glass of whisky or two, it doesn’t affect my T, alcohol has no effect on my T.
I have always found that when I've had a drink or two my tinnitus is definitely lessened. It's not that I'm not so aware, it's just when I listen in, it's quieter
I have been brave and tried a drink, at the time its okay. T did not like it suffer the next day.
I no longer drink, the plus side no hangover🙃
Great your T disappeared for a few days.

My t goes through the roof with alcohol although l still enjoy my glass of wine 🍷 and no that it settles again
My T disappears for a few hours after a few drinks but I find I pay the price the next day both in it's intensity and my ability to cope with it mentally given that alcohol is a depressant.
Yes, air pressure & alcohol effect my tinnitus.
