Hello I've had For almost a year, constantly for the last 7 months, started in my left ear high pitched alarm, waiting for ENT appointment, last week I had tonsillitis, chest infection, the left ear is now constantly buzzing, fed up, had enough of this it's so loud 😩

having any kind of infection in your upper respiratory tract is likely to affect your ears and the organs surrounding them. Tinnitus is just one of the symptoms you could have. When you see ENT make sure you have a list of questions to ask. In the meantime have a look at the website of Tinnitus UK, if you haven’t already done so.

Hi there. I myself have had tinnitus for over 1 year, in both ears. Like yourself, everytime I get a cold, sore throat, or covid, the tinnitus ramps up considerably. I find when the infection clears, it finds its usual level again, as long as I don't stress or over analyse it. I find a packed day, with plenty of distraction and sounds, plus a sleepband with sound therapy at night, helps to calm things back down again. Hope yours levels out a bit and take care. Thankyou sonnybee, I've woke up this morning with vertigo, called the doctors, spoke to a receptionist and cried like a baby, due back to work tomorrow after being on holiday last weekand have zero energy 😢 she said to self certificate, doctors appointment next week Monday, bloody T it's driving me nuts
