hi there I’ve been experiencing a constant vibrating feeling in my right ear. It’s really loud when I’m lying in bed and easier to deal with in the day time. My ear feels blocked and muffled. I have minor ear pain (more like the odd shooting pain) and itchy ears. Can anyone relate?
unilateral tinnitus: hi there I’ve been... - Tinnitus UK
unilateral tinnitus
if you have pain it could be a sign of infection - so a doctor or nurse would be the next step.
If you think you have tinnitus (a noise you hear that has no external cause) and if you are in the UK then you can look up the pathways that GPs are recommended to follow. Go to the website of the National Institute for Clinical Evidence (NICE) and put “tinnitus” into their search box. Armed with this info you can approach the medical people with confidence.
thank you for replying! I should have said I’ve had my ears checked by doctor and no sign of infection. My doctor is going to refer me to ENT due to it being one sided tinnitus but he kinda worried me by saying I’ll be seen quicker (which of course is good) because on sided can mean a more serious underlying condition
Yes they are a bit more concerned by one sided T . That's why you will be seen quicker .
I have T only in my right ear. Had MRI 20 years ago. Nothing wrong . This time when it resurfaced . I didnt bother with the tests. Its also easier to deal with during the day when you are busy. At night not so easy if you usually have silence in the room. Try you tube tinnitus sounds or just keep the radio on . I have LBC on all night.
Your situation might be linked to problems like Eustachian tube dysfunction, infection, or wax accumulation. Taking advice from an ENT specialist could be helpful. They can give you proper guidance, suggest essential tests or treatments for the vibrating sensation, muffled hearing, and discomfort you're experiencing.
