I just discovered my tinnitus in May obviously it’s new and I don’t really understand nothing about it or why people get it. One thing is when I’m watching tv I don’t remember that I have it but as soon as the tv is off and I’m trying to get to sleep, then my frustration starts as well as fibromyalgia pain everywhere. Thank you x

Hi! Yes we all find it hard to cope with tinnitus at first but it is important to distract yourself from the sound. Personally, I find that pillow speakers with some gentle music from your phone helps you relax and sleep. Daytime I use Shokz headphones which fit around the back of your head and the music from your phone plays through your cheekbones. This is good because you can chat, watch T.V, hear oncoming traffic, nature sounds etc. Best of luck and keep posting.
Yes trying to get to sleep is often the hardest when there is nothing to distract you . Try a radio or devise like ipad/ phone . YouTube has lots of tinnitus sounds ( crickets/ various colour noises/ rain etc) which you can listen to while trying to sleep. Of course it is finding which one works best for you. I use a radio on LBC as I find talking lower level than the T works best for me . Everyone of us has different ways of coping , you will find yours.
Does anyone knows why I’m so irritated and frustrated all the time . I can’t find happiness I’m always sad deep inside my heart? I’m probably going through menopause and my body and my head not taking very well.
That is a seperate issue that I am currently experiencing I am also having difficulty sleeping but not due to the Tinnitus but more the anxiety and depression my doctor said whilst the anxiety and depression is still present you will struggle to sort the sleeping think you need to go back to your doctor for help im doing the same currently to address the underlying issue
I have got diagnosed with fibromyalgia depression brain fog pain anxiety tinnitus diabetes high blood pressure colesterol etc…. I’m visiting my doctors almost everyday. The private rheumatologist asked to go and see a psychologist but I don’t have mental health on my package. So I’ll have to find another way tho . Thank you
I understand a bit of what you are going through. I have a pacemaker for Afib and diagnosed with , diabetes, diverticulosis, high cholesterol ( the statins brought back my T). So am trying to reduce the cholesterol by diet. Trying to work out what to eat for the different conditions ,got very depressed and scrambled brain cells . But theres always a way .
