Keeping your tinnitus induced and super sensitised sympathetic nervous system under control

The description below is me."Exercise and stress

In trying to reduce your stress levels to bring your tinnitus loudness down, the unfortunate Catch 22 is that experiencing tinnitus in itself can be stressful. This can engage the sympathetic arm of our autonomic nervous system, which means we have more stress hormones moving around the body. Namely cortisol, adrenaline and noradrenaline.

In order to reduce these hormones, we engage the other side of the autonomic nervous system by carrying out relaxed exercise. "

Mmmm

The above is easier said than done!!!!

In my case even although not outwardly stressed , my body tells me that I have excess cortisol and adrenaline circulating

I can tell by my heart thumping away

This keeps me awake a night

So the big question is how do others effectively keep their autonomic nervous system in check???

.My one is supersenzited and triggers off like a faulty fire alarm when there no fire

I do meditation , solid exercise and all the usual stuff with no avail

for me, when I’m stressed: a good walk! Easy enough in the summer, even with my very painful arthritis, but it works for me even when it’s raining.

Good question Peter .. I've been trying to work it out for several years. Whatever I do I can't relax in quite the same way as before. I do all the usual things and I pray too. I feel as I'm getting there but I'm not there yet. Nonetheless I live in hope.

Never quite the same after TI need ,like you, to do a hard reset of the autonomic sympathetic nervous system

I am still looking for the owners manual on how to do this :-))

You need to speak to the maker. He's always on hand for a chat 😉

Have you ever tried a professionally qualified massage? I was working in Denmark many years ago and it’s taken very seriously there. Super relaxing like drugs without the drugs.
