Hello, has anyone tried different hearing aids to help mask Tinnitus and think a particular brand has really helped with theirs? I would like to be able to try some for a few weeks to see if they work-does anyone know any companies that do this please? I have had NHS ones over 10 years ago but they just made it louder so I stopped wearing them. My audiologist at the time said I do not hear the beginning or end of words -has anyone else experienced this? It is driving me crazy as my hearing is worse and my tinnitus is so bad now! As an example a person would say shoe, I don't know if they are saying shoe, too, boo or Sue?? Any advise would be gratefully received! Many thanks.

it’s possible that a private audiologist might be able to advise you as I can’t imagine the NHS allowing you to try things out. Of the millions of people who have aids, only a tiny proportion will see your post so any recommendations are going to be a bit one-sided.
On the point of your actual hearing - it seems to me as if you have hearing loss, and surely aids would help. Aids tend to make the tinnitus less prominent because the real world is clearer. Have a read of the TinnitusUK website for more info on hearing aids.
I'm getting Specsavers ones . The audiologist said there's a 90 day money back if I dont like them .
