Few recovery cases

Habituation is the way forward you're going to have to try and keep positive, I know it's not easy, but you have to try and not focus on it all the time .you posted about CBT, maybe try and find someone in your area who does this.
Toughmatthew, if you “recover” from tinnitus you are unlikely to tell your doctor and even more unlikely to be on this forum, so how would anyone know.
maybe the British Tinnitus Association has some statistics. I have suggested to you before that you can contact them for help. You keep posting here with odd questions, so I think it might be a good idea to write all your questions down and then phone the BTA for advice.
As I’ve also said to you before, you seem to be concentrating on tinnitus itself, when you could be concentrating on more important things that have been suggested to you over the last few weeks.
I know my tinnitus is here to stay. It’s with me always. But I really don’t notice it because I’ve habituated
Less focus is a must regardless of how annoying it is ....I'm not guaranteed mine will go away even if they stent me, its here to stay ..must agree you do ask odd questions which undermines all advice given on the subject.. there's No cure as of yet, I just know mines caused by narrowing of the arteries & drives me mad hearing my blood pulsating through my ear/s it's goes to both ears now & wish it would stop nearly 3yrs of it however I cannot talk for anybody else, it effects us all differently. Try and do stuff positively especially when your T is playing up ..
You have to try and stop having negative thoughts about your Tinnitus, I know it is not easy, it is hard, I know I have been there. Take the the advice given by Happyrosie and try to stay positive about your T.
I first got tinnitus in 1999 due to my chemo drugs and like every body else who first get it its horrible and scary but mine did all most go away its only when i got a head cold that i ever noticed it but then last year after a bad head injury my tinnitus went through the roof and its been loud ever since and yes there are times when it still scares the life out of me but i agree that habitation is the only way forward or as i call it getting used to it infact iv forgotten what silence is which is a good thing and there's no reason why my tinnitus or anybody's els can not if not completely go so away there's always hope so please think positive there's always hope and i also agree with Happyrosie that if your tinnitus went away then you would not come on this forum and you would just get on with your life so there must be some people out there who's tinnitus has gone away.
You need to stop fixating on this so much. Try CBT, get therapy, get anti-depressants. practice meditation, go for walks, keep busy (not all, choose what might help) and start getting used to this. It's probably going to be permanent but we nearly all habituate to it and learn to live with it. Many of us to the point that it stops bothering us particularly.
Hi toughmatthew, ive had my T for years now and its just too loud to habituate to. I hear your frustration, and I have to say how it is. I amm happy it works for most on here but the truth is, a lot of people have left here who have Treally bad because they also get frustrated.
I get the impression that people move on because they can cope with their T . Those who stay (like me) still need help and support. I may be wrong of course.
. I'm glad you have stayed. You have a very positive outlook. You give me and others hope for the future

Thanks Hidden Talking to other people with T helps me cope with my own. I'm not ready to go it alone just yet.
like others have said - u need to focus on how to manage yr T - try the OTO app (£20 per month) pay attention to yr diet/ carefully use sound therapy ,maybe not music
Have you listened to YouTube Tinnitus masking videos like Tinnitus Scrubbing, etc
