hi everyone why my T sounds always change and spike. dr check my CT scan. they said it’s fine go home and cope with it. it’s for life . you have to live with. For hearing, they will give me hearing aid. I’m waiting for this. But what about my screaming tinnitus 😭. sometimes gets soft sometimes really strong sounds.

Dear Sun_1234

If your tinnitus is related to a hearing loss, then correcting that hearing loss will begin to help you notice your tinnitus less. As that pattern continues, you may even find that your tinnitus is less bothersome even on taking the hearing aids out overnight.

A lot of the difficulty that you have talked about in the past seems to relate to how tinnitus makes you feel - worried, anxious and upset. That's quite understandable, and a lot of people experience similar emotions when they are new to tinnitus or problems with their hearing.

The thing that doctors advise - that we have to learn with tinnitus - is truthful. There isn't an amazing pill or health supplement which can take away tinnitus and that can be hard to accept for a lot of people.

I try to ask people to work on accepting that idea, as doing so can prevent them from suffering with their tinnitus by looking for any solution that they find online and experiencing disappointment when it doesn't work.

There are things which we know can help tinnitus a lot - getting help with our hearing is one thing. Working to lower our stress levels is another - if we were able to get out of the pattern of actively paying attention to our tinnitus sound, we would find it easier to direct our attention on other things and tinnitus might not seem like such an overwhelming problem when it is not a source of constant fear and stimulation.

I think it is highly likely that at least some of the problems with screaming tinnitus that you describe are related to your hearing - so it's definitely worth using the hearing aids when you receive them and being prepared to adjust to what they can do for you. They may not immediately remove your tinnitus, but they should help you to quieten it by letting you hear other sounds in your world which are more interesting to hear.

Wishing you the best,

Pat

Hi Sun the only thing I have not had is a CCT scan ENT say I would have other symptoms.

Screaming is the word I use, my Tinnitus does not vary much although sometimes it is accompanied by a feeling of pressure.

I feel my hearing aids help.

I am slowly but surely learning to live with it, I have accepted life will never be the same again.

Keep your chin up the human body has fantastic way of repairing itself, given time.

Take Care

Mike

Hi sun_1234 Hang in there. Hearing aids not only help with hearing but with tinnitus too. I got mine just over a couple of weeks ago and they've made a difference already. I can hear better and I'm living with T better too. It's good news that your scan is clear . That means there's nothing to worry about. Try & relax while you wait for your HA's - if possible.
