Had my MRI scan

Hi. Had my MRI in Spain yesterday. I had a bilateral with contrast. I get my results emailed to me apparently.

Everything was fine except they only gave me ear plugs. The banging, crashing and pinging was clearly audible even though I tried to relax and think about something else. Since then, my T has been very bad🙄At least it's done now.

Next stage is organising physio on my neck which is where my specialist said many T symptoms come from.

Onwards and upwards ☺

Good luck. That has inspired me to try Shiatsu. Has anyone had relief through Shiatsu?

Well done for getting through the MRI!

Good luck to ya TT. After 30ish years of managing my T, I went to a hearing and balance institute and one of the first things they did was a head MRI. I've been in the tube before and knew 60 minutes of noise would be less fun than eating gumdrops.I see the doc next week t review the results and find out what they suggest. I already know they will suggest a hearing aid for the T-ear but I hope there is more.

My brain MRI showed no cause for my T. The physician's assistant said I should get an appointment in their audiology department and have a hearing aid adjusted to the frequencies my left ear does not hear. But it only helps when I wear the hearing aid and does not help when I notice it at nighttime because I won't be wearing a hearing aid to bed. That's a worthless idea, I can mask or forget the noise by day with music and by keeping busy.I am tracking my diet because some foods set me off. Noticeably artificial sweetener, food coloring as found in confectionaries, some spices.

My best friend is physical activity - I totally forget my 'noisy companion' when I play tennis, ride my bicycle, and the best is swimming with ear plugs and a waterproof conduction headset.

Nice work TurboTrace Hope your T settles very soon. I've missed two MRI appts and the third one is looming . Still undecided whether to go.

Do go! It's so important. As unpleasant as mine was, the maximum time in there was 30 minutes and they can see so much which will eventually aid your recovery from T. Tinnitus can be resolved. Every test or scan or treatment offered is a step towards resolving this dreadful condition. Do go. Don't miss out x

My head says go but my heart says no .. Just in case it makes my T any worse. I don't want to go back to the dark days of T distress . It's a dilemna 😔

If I'd had thought about it I would have taken my own ear plugs. Just a thought x

I’ve had treatment for blocked Eustachian tube. Nasonex”. MRI.. come back clear….Acupuncture helps but is expensive.

Audiologist says I’m not going deaf…. THAT. It’s through emotional trauma.!

Also I’m waiting for a Consultation with ENT.

. Working out helps.

WIFI. Affects it…

Make a journal of when it gets worse.? STRESS, ANXIETY. Make it worse.

Yoga.& mindfulness & Muscle relaxation will help….. regards Daniel

Thanks Daniel. ☺ These are all useful points to consider. My T gets bad if I'm stressed or drink too much alcohol so I try and avoid both!🤣 My next step is seeing a physio as recommended by my ENT specialist. The acupuncture is an interesting treatment and something I will consider.

There also might be a connection with the JAW. ( TMJ). It’s known as .Ps.. I was drinking, drowning my sorrows, because I also lost my flat, I let her have it because she’s Type1 diabetic….. Stress looking for accommodation down here is a nightmare.££££.. ridiculously overpriced.

I Have not had a Drink for 7 days.!!?

Guess what._ ? The Bells of Notre Damè are Quieter. ALL FOR THE JOURNAL.😊.

Goodnight.

Sorry to hear this news, Daniel 😔Interesting what you say about TMJ🤔 I grind my teeth and have to wear a bite guard at night. Lost 2 teeth through it as well. I also occasionally use a jaw tension release exercise my UK dentist gave me but not had to use this for a while.

I had MRI in April for 40mins with ear plugs and foam pad next to ears - still v v loud and T changed 10 days after this - although after scan it was the same so I am not sure if the scan changed it or something else. I had ENT scan in Sept for 20mins with ear plugs which didnt fit well and my T was ok after this. its weird that my T is worse after better ear protection during scan - but maybe its coz the scan was much longer
