Morning everyone, I'm wondering if there's advice on how to push tinnitus in the background, today I'm in a classroom supporting students and I have a high pitched hiss in both sides.
Does anyone else have this sound and how do you get over it.?
I do have quiet days but I'm still getting used to it.
Thank you for your support.

Good morning Maesy, I have hissing and ringing in both of my ears. I only had it in my right ear for some years, now it’s in my left ear. During the day I’m not bothered as much because I’m busy and I try not to think about it, but night is when can sometimes get loud. Have you gone to an ENT dr yet? If not I would suggest that you do they can find remedies that may help you.
I'm waiting for an audiology appointment. No haven't been to Doctors yet.New tinnitus after an ear accident... Had it 3 weeks now... Thank you for the advice
You are very welcome and you will get a since of relief after talking to the Dr. I’m wearing a hearing aid and that helps as well it seems to drown out some of the noise. I’m so glad that I’m not alone with this illness. Reach out to me anytime. I hope the noise subside or just go the heck away for you. Take care🤗
Yes I have had tinnitus for a while but had an accident 4 weeks ago regarding my right ear and its like I've gone back to square 1....i get anxious with it and take Bach flower remedies for this.I will make an appointment with the doctors, see if I can get a face to face one.
Have a look, Maesy, at the British tinnitus Association website and especially their ‘Take on Tinnitus’.Personally I only hear the T when I’m stressed, have got an upper respiratory infection, or like now when I’m writing about it! Going for walks and listening to nature - birds, wind, rain - is helpful.
Hi Maesy . I've got a high pitched hiss on both sides. Louder in one . At first all I could think about was how to reduce the noise but slowly I'm getting used to it. I think you will too. It's as if your brain does it for you - especially if you can find ways to relax. The more the better . Not easy in the early days of a spike of course.
Yes not easy.... I get a little scared, if that's the right word.Yes I will try and relax, it was difficult today in a quiet classroom I must admit I wanted to run out the door, but I didn't.
Thanks for the advice... Its helpful to know your not alone with a high pitched hiss.. Lol
Aww Maesy It's exactly the right word. I was so afraid last autumn & winter. The T gripped me day & night . I just stopped. You're doing really well to keep going - especially in a school! Good for you . The fear does pass and then you start to feel better 🙂
Sorry for late reply... Had 2 quiet days and for no reason its back screaming at me... Always louder in the evening.I'm trying to take the Big out of it.
That's what T can do. It's very unnerving . Generally OK thank you. I'm going to ENT Tuesday so hopefully will have some answers soon . Hope you have a 'quiet' day 🙂
Thanks Maesy When is your appointment with Audio? Hope you don't have to wait too long. I feel like I'm been waiting forever but it's only 10 months (or 12 from when I first asked my GP) .
I know I'm the same. Have suffered a set back and now it's so difficult to climb up that mountain again.Been here before and got on top of it for months now its like it was first time round.... Disppear
