Hello BI have not been on here for a while. Too be honest, it can get to down to hear stories of people suffering and desperate for some type of relief. It is sad that they still have not come up with a cure.
As for my neuromod journey, it was not a success.
I invested both time and money into it but it did not work for me. However, I am glad that I tried it as I would always be wondering.
The material and product looked really good. I was trying not to get my hopes up but I thought that this could put me on the road to silence.
Within a week of using it, my T went through the roof and I got really bad nausea. I went back to Dublin where the tones were adjusted. My Hyperacusis went up and the whole experience knocked me for six.
I got really down due to the increase T and not being able to eat. I gave the neuromod a good go but it continued to make me worse. I then stopped using it. It was a long road back to but I was left with increased T and still have to take medication for nausea.
Anyway, despite the result, it had to be tried.
I had a consultation at the Royal ENT in London. They were general against Neuromod type devises. They said, "If it worked then they would be using it" . Also, they had concerns that there were too many variables as to how the brain could respond to electrical stimulation.
They said that there are so many causes of T so by trying to treat something where you had no knowledge of the cause did not make sense.
It is up to you to decide if it is worth a try. I have read reports of negative experiences but have not read of a single independent report of someone being cured by it.
As for me know, I still have T and H. Like the rest, I try to keep smiling. Some days this is easier than others. Good luck on your journey
Wishing you peace and quiet

Hi Ade
My sentiments exactly, I appreciate a cure is a long way off because tinnitus is caused by varying issues however, there should be by now , some relief particularly as some people have it really loud and others just find it hard to cope, its life changing and like you say, too many on here suffering and thats just the ones on here. I am sad to hear you didnt get any success with the neuromod because from what I see, this was was nearest thing to some relief without people being given prescriptions that usually dont work but can also be addictive. I was going to go to my mp and suggest the neuromod funding but not if it doesnt work ,im going to see what he says in general anyway. Hope you find some peace soon . I pray for everyone on here every night.
Aww Blonde. That's very nice of you. Thank you. I agree - T is life changing and should be taken more seriously. I'm sorry to hear the treatment didn't work for you Ade. That's disappointing - to say the least. I guess we just have to hope & pray that one day there will be a way of curing - or at least relieving - the sound in our ears.
