White noise machines for tinnitus

Sometime back I bought a white noise machine that was supposed to help with tinnitus, which was rechargeable and had a fair assortment of sounds, which could be mixed with the controls

Two things against this device was blinking light while the sounds played

The white noise machine made No difference to my tinnitus, it still continues

My machine is a plug in one. Has various sounds and a small light which I cover with a sock. It doesn’t get rid of tinnitus it gives my brain another noise to focus on - my brain hears the noise snd now, two years using the machine my brain accepts its sleep time /but I do now have trouble sleeping without background noise now. Good luck

Time flys too quick, as I only just saw your reply, I like the sock idea for covering the machine :) I didn't continue using my rechargeable machine. Sorry to hear you are unable to sleep without the background noise

I would have to concur with Lesley. A tinnitus sound generator won't take tinnitus away, but provided that you use it at a reasonably low volume level, it can provide distraction for your auditory system whilst you are at rest.

My wife would agree with you about the blinking white light issue - many a device in our house now has some kind of electrical tape obscuring the offending LEDs to prevent them from being an irritation.
