A two-part interactive workshop focusing on management of Covid related tinnitus.

The workshops will run as two separate sessions. The total cost of the Workshop is £5 (includes two sessions). By registering, you agree to attend both sessions.

Dates:

PART 1: Wednesday 9th June 2021, 5 - 7pm

PART 2: Wednesday 16th June 2021, 5 - 7pm

Learning outcomes:

Understand what tinnitus is, separating fact from fiction

What is the latest? An overview of the recent research carried out related to tinnitus and Covid.

Understanding how anxiety and stress can impact your tinnitus and tips on managing this.

Tips on remote working

Tinnitus services: what to expect

Share experiences with other people who have tinnitus

Who will be delivering the workshop?

Lucy Handscomb, PhD from UCL Ear Institute:

25 years as a tinnitus therapist, working with both individuals and groups

Involved in several research projects investigating psychological aspects of tinnitus

Regularly teaches on a number of tinnitus courses for students and clinicians

Trustee of BTA and former chair of their Professional Advisers’ Committee

Lucy Potter, BTA:

Lucy is a Tinnitus Support Adviser and Research Assistant at the BTA. Her role is to develop and support the Tinnitus Support Team’s helpline, webchat, and other services. Lucy is the first point of contact for people seeking support and advice about tinnitus to ensure everyone feels less alone and isolated by the condition.

Who is this workshop for?

You have experienced troublesome tinnitus due to Covid and are looking for further support on ways to manage this.

You have experienced a spike due to long Covid and are looking for further support on ways to manage this.

How will the workshop be delivered?

We will be using Zoom Meetings for both parts of the workshop. Please ensure you can access Zoom on the device you will be using for the event.

How long is the workshop?

Each session will be 2 hours long (4 hours in total).
