I'm new to tinnitus.
How the heck do you cope with it? Specially when you have AF too!

Hello Hannibal. You posted a few days ago, too. So it looks as if your tinnitus has taken a bit of a grip on you.
Firstly, have you gone through the British Tinnitus Association website? Lots of hints there.
You may feel, as I said, that the T has a grip. But it is not in charge of you. You are in charge of it.
Going for walks and listening to the birds, the trees - even the rain - should take your mind off it a bit. Gradually, your brain habituates. The T might go away for good, it might not. Google meditation apps and see what you can find that might suit you.
I found that understanding my tinnitus, which for me is due to hearing loss, helped me to accept it. I think it relieved the worry of navigating the thoughts of the seemingly infinite causes. I had a very successful appointment with an audiologist after an ENT appointment, but all I came away with is understanding how my hearing loss has caused Tinnitus and Hyperacusis. As I already have hearing aids and I was using Sound Therapy at night and during quiet times, there wasn't much else they could suggest or would recommend. I'd already done my own research which helped (although some of it made me a little worried), but I specifically asked her to explain all my results, and more importantly, discussed what I already thought I knew to clear up any misunderstandings on my part. She also confirmed and helped me understand, somewhat ironically, how stress can also cause or exacerbate Tinnitus.
Has you doctor said it is related to your AF? - Atrial fibrillation? Had to look that up. Although you may already know that. Is it Pulsatile Tinnitus?
I'm not a medical expert, but I did a quick search on AF and Tinnitus and found what appear to be reliable sources. There does seems to be a link between AF, other heart conditions and comorbidities, to Pulsatile Tinnitus. Again, you probably already know this.
I've had it for forty years. I had full blown mennieres and resulted in tinnitus. Now it's part of me, I cannot stand silence, always have a radio on all night but you just learn to relax and live with it. Good luck
Ps if it gets too bad stand with your head under the shower and while you are there the noise of the water blocks it
Thank you.
