Poem for Tinnitus sufferers.

Tinnitus.

Some hear creaks,

Or corn crakes,

cicadas,

even bees.

Telephones, jet plane, drones,

Or the jingling sound of keys.

Mosquitoes got to be the worst,

Bad enough to those not cursed.

But what about a dripping tap,

Turns a sleep into a nap.

Quasi Modo heard the bells,

Others hear the sound in shells.

Samuel Morse could never sleep,

He kept hearing bleep bleep bleep.

Then of course, was poor Van Gogh,

He found no cure, so cut it off.

Ah, were cutting it off so easy. I would sacrifice my ear at this point. Seems a small offering in exchange for quiet.

Of course I have empathy for you Lauren, my own level increased recently so I do understand. My poetry pertaining to noise is only a means to convey the annoyance we collectively suffer from. There is a lot of research being done in this field of medicine, we can but hope that some form of easement will be discovered. The first thought of my day, every day is suicide, the second is coffee. As long as it is never inverse, there is hope.

May your coffee remain strong and your suicide thoughts weak.
