Hi, Hannah,

Luckily for me, it doesn't. As with all things, moderation is key.

Respectfully submitted,

Keoni

I think if you drink in moderation then it will be ok. However it's important to remember that alcohol is a depressant and for me if my mood is low I will focus on it far more. So if I have drunk far too much then my tinnitus feels loud and bothersome. I guess it's about having a healthy balance.

The audiologists at the UCSF hospital in their T clinic, told me that for many, alcohol was more helpful rather than prescribing medications. This depends on the patient and is only advised off the record because of the risks of alcohol addiction.

Long term T patients who've had success with it, tend to like red wine. The key is to moderate your consumption to prevent dehydration and or addiction.

It stands to reason that if you drink too much, you are damaging most of the cells in your body, including the nervous system, and would experience a spike.

I weigh 170 pounds, so two glasses a day of good quality wine, helps. If I drank the whole bottle, I'd be tempting fate.

Drink lots of water.
