Hi all. I have now reluctantly cancelled my appointment with Neuromod next month. After several hearing tests which are all different, most show I have two lower range frequencies losses in one ear which are at 42.5/45 DB. Neuromod have confirmed that this definitely rules me out. I was going to chance it but there seems little point flying to Dublin and paying £250 when it is high probably I will be rejected. I am so very disappointing and await the UK launch which apparently is a long way off! I would recommend everyone gets their hearing tests done before they go. The upside for me is that I am in a much better position than I was two years ago and even get really good days. I am following a strict diet and herbal supplements which for me seem to be helping along with the reduction in stress. So for all those who cant have Neuromod it can still get better!

In time, I'm certain that Neuromod will loosen the eligibility criteria. It doesn't make any sense for them to turn business away. My guess is that they wanted the first wave of patients to have the best chance of good results to boost the profile of the treatment.
It won't make you feel any better, but I'm 6wks in to the treatment and it's done knack all for me yet.
I spoke to them Saturday and they advised sending hearing profile - although looking at potential fee for accessing it from my records - done almost 2 years ago - debating getting a more up to date hearing test on the high street.
I was all excited about Neuromod when they announced but know realize that I probably would not pass their hearing test either. I have severe tinnitus. It almost seems they are trying to skew the result and success of their company by letting only people with mild to moderate T use it. The people who are really suffering will continue to suffer.
That isn't the case in my experience. I have severe tinnitus and they accepted me for treatment. They've been rejecting clients due to the extent of their hearing impairment, not the severity of their tinnitus.
From memory, the criteria for the hearing profile is no impairment greater than 40db in the lower frequencies and none greater than 80db in the higher frequencies. If your audiogram dips below either of these, the chances are they'll knock you back.
My problem is my hearing as well. Is the hearing test for sounds (tones) or is it speech recognition? I have hyperacusis and can pick a lot of sounds despite of my hearing loss. It is speech recognition i have trouble with. Thanks for your reply.
The hearing test is just tones, like a normal test.
I want to give a positive shout for the Neuromod assessment process. I went and they told me that my profile was positive for the treatment but I should try white noise treatment first. In the event that has done nothing for me so far but it does show that even presented with a "positive outcome business opportunity" the health care professionals at Neuromod are giving their best outcome advice to patients.

There aren't set criteria as such, it's at their discretion. It does cost as well - €2150 if you pay up front, more if you pay by instalments.

Hi Elaa. I have been food fasting and taking a tablet called Memovigor which for me has really helped or its just that I was getting better anyway. I also take iodine and black radish on daily basis. I have also used Debbie Featherstone from the E Tinnitus program which helped a a lot too. None of these are quick fixes. You can habituate as I did twice to my ;left ear tinnitus before onset of the right two years ago which set the left off also. Still, despite the difficulty I have made very good progress and continue to do so. Hope this helps you.
