Three months ago, out of nowhere, I developed pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear. After going to two general physicians, i was finally referred to an ENT who seemed well aware of bruits/pulsatile tinnitus and ordered mri, blood test and carotid ultrasound. The mri was a specific pulsatile tinnitus protocol. All results came back normal and the ENT said that he cannot refer me further or prescribe any medicines. I am more disappointed than ever. Yes, i am under a lot of stress but there are days my pulsatile tinnitus is suppressed and manageable and days when it drives me nuts and i cry myself to sleep. My life is divided into pulsatile tinnitus and no pulsatile tinnitus days. Please recommend anything i can do to get through those horrible days. I am 30 and I really want this to be out of my system.
Thanks

I've been through something similar. I had tinnitus in one ear on and off for a couple of years. Then turned in to pulsatile tinnitus. I also had severe vertigo attacks which lasted for a few hours. After mri and ct scans I've been diagnosed with with meniere's disease. The tinnitus does fluctuate as does my hearing.
I've learned to live with it. I read a lot and couldn't for a long time, I'm now back reading. It's there pulsing away, I ignore it, or try too. The vertigo attacks are far worse and unpredictable.
