Hi, I'v been having a terrible spike since returning from holiday, it seems to be OK in the morning and then the high pitch sound gets worse in the evening and is relentless. I just can't work out why this is?been to gp once I returned and he said I could have some fluid behind the ear drum. So I went back to him again last week and he said ears now look fine again but I'll send you back to ent for a hearing test.its been six weeks now since I came back from holidays but this is isn't settling back to were it was, definitely scared this is my new sound 😭
Gets worse in the evening : Hi, I'v been having... - Tinnitus UK
Gets worse in the evening

Sorry your tinnitus is worse. I have it too and it can get quite loud. Have you tried masking out the sound? Playing another sound, music, or something to drowned it out? Most of the time that is the recommended thing to do. My T gets worse when I'm stressed, overwhelmed or doing too much. Since I can't hear, I do breathing exercises and meditation. Most of the time you just have to find away to live with it.
Hi,it's just such a pain.i would be happy if it would just stay the same but mine changes volume all day.yesterday I never heard it until about 4pm and then it never stop with loud hiss in left ear and tonel noise in right ear.it was that loud I could hear it over traffic. I do think stress is probably my problem. Only good thing I can sleep for 6 hours before I wake up. It just wrecks life's and I know mine will never be the same again.
Mine changes too depending on what I am doing. I have a lot of anxiety and when I have to go outside of my house into a public social situation my T starts to roar. It is like my head fills up with blood and I have this pressure and the T is louder than anything else. It makes it extremely difficult to focus on someone or concentrate when this starts. I get how difficult it can be. I hope you can find some relief soon. I will keep you in my prayers.
Hello M, I returned from holiday last week and my T has been absolutely torturous! It is like this 24/7. I just project myself into the future imagining when it will be slightly more bearable!
When I returned from a flight last year my T was dreadful for a number of weeks afterwards but I did eventually get to the stage where although it's always loud it felt less intrusive on some days. I am hoping to get back to that stage again before long, it's just taking things day by day.
I am sure you will find things settle down a bit eventually it always just takes so much time.
I have to say, I am not sure how much more flying I want to risk anymore.
Take care, C
Hi curlew, yes mine was well settled until we went on holiday,I did have sinus issues before I went on holiday due to hayfever.it was the flight on the way back that done my damage.it took atleast 2 hours for my ears even to unblock.only thing I am grateful for is I do get a bit of restbite from the noise in the mornings and hopefully it will get better.i don't think I will take the chance on flying for a while,it's just not worth the risk.
Thanks Michael
