Hi, my tinnitus seems to react to the tv. I am fine watching it. Where there is dramatic music to cause suspense my tinnitus whistles reallly loud so basically all that music sounds the same to me which has often caused me anxiety but I’m learning to live with it now.

I have hearing aids as I am deaf to certain sounds I have stopped wearing them as I find they pick up sounds that make my tinnitus worse I would rather have trouble hearing than have my tinnitus worse

I think you probably have a touch of hyperacusis where certain sounds almost hurt. I have masking hearing aids which have been adjusted to take this into account. Be gentle with all sound - good luck.

Hi John

I have severe tinnitus which started last year when I suddenly lost my hearing. Mine is definitely worse when I’ve been in noisy situations, watching tv etc also exacerbates it. I find any sudden noise causes mine to spike. I frequently wake during the night due to the roaring & clicking in my head! I’m doing my best to live with it but haven’t found any solutions I’m afraid. Sadly I find myself avoiding social situations in order to avoid excessive noise. I have a cochlear implant which gives me some artificial hearing but no relief from the dreaded tinnitus. I am ever hopeful that in time it will ease
