Hi, does anyone know what can cause pulsetile tinnitus when laying down please? Also is it normal to have ringing tinnitus that comes and goes as well as the pulsetile?

Pulsetile tinnitus question...
Hi
I regularly have more than one Tinnitus sound at once and I’ve been told that’s not unusual. I haven’t tried any ‘cures’ as I don’t believe there are any - but distraction from ‘listening to it’ works well. At bedtime I usually put the radio on very low on a sleep timer to help myself get to sleep.
The carotid arteries carrying blood to your brain are very close to your hearing systems and certainly if you stick your fingers in your ears the rumbling and throbbing is very noticeable - don't worry about it ....you need to keep conscious!

Hi there,
I have most of my pulsatile tinnitus (left ear mostly) when I'm laying down, but only when I am laying on my side (right or left). If I lay flat on my back with my head unsupported by a pillow, the pulsatile tinnitus stops. I also experience tinnitus (left ear only) when I tilt my head forward to look at something, like a monitor, keyboard, a book etc. I've had ultrasounds, an MRI and a CT scan and all appear to be normal. I tend to think that i am hearing the normal flow of blood through either my left carotid artery or jugular vein..?
Cheers
Ian
