Hello. I have been suffering from this incessant condition for the past year now. Though I experienced mild tinnitus in the past, it intensified dramatically last summer when I met with severe anxiety and depression from dealing with an unassociated physical ailment. All of this seemed complicated at the time and I ended up seeing numerous doctors in various fields to address my issues. Medication which allows me to deal with the associated psychological challenges of having tinnitus combined with the inclusion of Tinnitus Retraining Therapy has brought some sanity in my life, though the condition still complicates my life.
I empathize with all of you who have "good" and "bad" days. My greatest challenge is finding ways to lessen the severity of my tinnitus by changing my psychological and physical behaviors. It seems that minimizing stress and establishing consistent sleeping patterns have some effect on limiting severity. However, there are many occasions when I feel that I have no control.
I am happy to have found this forum and look forward to sharing with people who have similar challenges.

Hi . I was in a much similar position and even gave at work. Have a look at the E Tinnitus website. I have followed this and undergone CBT with the therapist, who I can highly recommend. I believe there is small donation for the therapy but I would defiantly recommend it! My life has changed , I am not cured but gradually my life is returning. I am a sufferer as you will see from my blogs so I have no interest in promoting this site and therapy, but although I have bad days I get more and more days and I am in control ! I have severe tinnitus. Best wishes Dean
