I'm already seeing a licensed social worker/therapst and it isn't helping. I feel more isolated and alone. This person isn't listening to me. Besides how much talking can one do? There comes a point when one has to take action. I'm more of a doer then a talker.

Kurgle. Further to Knoll80's rather rude and unhelpful response (to put it mildly) just wanted to say, so sorry that you're feeling so alone and isolated.
I'm new here and have yet to post for help and advice so can't really offer anything remotely useful....other than to send a few virtual hugs to try and make you feel less alone.
Hope some of the more experienced and supportive members will be along with kind words of advice for you, before too long.
Take care x
P.s. I've had Tinnitus on a full-time permanent 24/7 basis for two years now - it's not great, is it 😖.
Hi I've had it for over half my life. In my opinion best thing to do is first see a doctor, then ENT, hearing therapist and take whatever else is offered to you. It can't hurt, but don't spend loads of money looking for a cure which I think we've all done to a certain extent. Then take the focus away from it, it's very hard but it can be done. I'm just coming out of a very bad spell with mine. I've come away on holiday and although I hear it all the time, I can honestly say it's not bothering me at all. I'm sitting on my balcony and it's blaring away, but I'm taking in the scenery and not listening to it 😀
Hope you manage to get it under control, which I'm sure you will.
Take care
Ingrid
I'm sorry you are feeling so isolated. I hope being here is helping.
Our online e-programme Take on tinnitus might be helpful if you want to be "doing" - it has things to try and helps you take control of your tinnitus.
