Hi folks. My audiologist has just cancelled my 11.30 appointment today and feeling bit list tbh. Determined not to give up but it's hard as I am struggling.I was also due to see the ENT secretary who was making good the wrong ( again) prescription from the locum Consultant. 😢

Tomorrow is another day. Thanks to T I now have the temper of a disturbed rhino!! I no longer comprehend the meaning of the word "patience". I have ground me teeth to stumps and could pick a fight with the Dia lama.

Who says that it is easy to live with??

Hi Lindsay, ENT departments in the nhs do appear to be poorly run, no doubt because of lack of consultants. It seems to be countrywide. I would suggest counting up the pennies and paying privately, as I had to when I was desperate. The consultant himself was of no comfort, telling me the usual ....... no cure etc etc. BUT, he did get me a very quick referral within one week to the nhs audiologist who, I tell you, was a lifesaver. She was virtually holding my hand as I went through the initial disbelief and actual pain, and I saw her every week until I was able to cope better. That is my suggestion anyway. I do hope that you are better this evening. Love and hugs, Angela xx

Thank you both , the rhino comment made me smile as this afternoon I got out to a garden centre for a coffee with a friend - and one of the cards we saw had a photo of a rhino lying on its back , all four legs in the air , with a funny sentance below to do with relaxing ( alas can't quite remember what ) but it did raise a smile. I managed my disappointment by contacting my local ( its not but the nearest I have found that is good ) group and had an hour long phone call with the amazing lady who set it up 30 years ago ( I have been in for 3 and a half years ) She really gets it as we say and has had really tough times and some easier ones. A great woman all round and I am really grateful to her ( part of me is angry it's ourselves / volunteers who have to help each other where statutory services fail , but I have got to know some great people because of this ). Tinnitus truly is infuriating and I have a ratty side too now ( only ever had towards Derby County Supporters before !) I am so annoyed with myself that I can be short at times , and that I can no longer work in the 'caring professions'. However , I will have to find faith in myself to turn things round. Best wishes to all the fantastic people on this forum xx

Keep chin up x I to laughed at the rhino not done that in a while x Hope yr feeling bit better this evening x

Cheers ( not CheErskine as predictive text came up with - I took it off my last phone , and have NO idea where on earth it gets the words from such as Keepisode! )😊

It's let down's like this that exacerbates the T and just makes you feel rubbish, moody and angry with life.

Hope you get another appointment very soon.
