Ongoing problem in addition to tinntus.

ENT doc said my sinuses are clear. Used the microscope to go into both nostrils.

Also said my ears have no fluid. Did the tests for that. Came down with extremely bad flu the day after!

He did say that the problems I have are not caused by my sinuses.

I get catarrh. And mucous in my throat in the morning and in the day or evening sometimes. Usually white or opaque and thick in the morning. I get post nasal drip and pain above my nose and forehead and temples at times. A feeling of catarrh at the back of my throat too. This can be clear.

I get dizziness which can last days and then my balance seems fine.

I also get days when my eyes seem bleary...like when you take your glasses off.

The tinnitus is enough to cope with and I can get out freely when I have my balance.

Can anyone tell me what could be causing the problems?

ENT has repeatedly said my ears are nothing to do with dizziness.

I did have a breakdown some months ago and find it hard going. I do know anxiety can cause sinus problems but my GP says it doesn't cause catarrh and mucus.

One online site, Calm Clinic says it can.

Many thanks.

I avoid dairy, gluten, sugar etc... and only have alcohol now and again.

Hi there. How's your hearing? I had similar symptoms with the onset of my tinnitus, except not really dizziness, but I also have a severe hearing loss in one ear. The sinus and mucous symptoms did eventually clear but no change to my hearing or tinnitus unfortunately

I would think your ears could have everything to do with your dizziness but I'm no expert I'm afraid.

Sorry you're having such a hard time and the ent Doc couldn't help more x

ENT says dizziness is not related to my ears. Mild hearing loss in left ear and perfect in right. Hearing aid with generator for left ear which was the only one affected till I had a Breakdown last May. Tinnitus sometimes in right. Getting noise generator for that. The audiologist didn't want to give me two at once as she thought it might be overwhelming.

She wanted to keep the noise in the one I have up but I found it scary and she turned it down a bit. Took out some of the higher pitches.

Once I wore it several days I found it comforting to hear as I knew it was working on my ear. I then asked if I could have it turned up.

I was to go back in March but have an appointment for February now. And the noise generator packed in today.

Hear the music when it's switching on and then nothing.

Tinnitus very bad due to new meds which GP told me to try again for a few days. I did. No change. Won't give me anything else.

Did diazepam before when escitalopram sent it sky high. Says it only fixes things for a bit. Well, for a bit is all I need.

Doesn't help anxiety or the noises.

Hi Jena, have you ever heard the saying that the mind can play tricks with you. Well its amazing but its also very very true, i can tell you this, for the last ten years i have been convinced that i have been on my way out and now here i am approaching 73. I have had this pain and that pain, but having said that sometimes the doctors do get it wrong. We all get pains and feelings that eventually pass its just the body working but if your pains persist then you must get them checked out making sure that your voice is heard. If your Audiology dept at ENT said that your dizziness is not being caused by your ears than accept what they say but if the dizziness persists then i would suggest you pursue it and go back to your doctors. Your catarrh problem, that happens to all of us its a very common thing just pop to your Chemist and get some tablets. Finally, try to relax a bit,

Sincerely, Peter.😊

Thanks for your reply. I've tried all sorts and it does disappear now and again.

Things haven't got any better unfortunately.

And with my tinnitus. That's another story. Posted it for advice.

Many thanks again

Jennifer
