I might add that I remember our own dirty fallout back in 1957 when what used to be called Windscale (now Sellafield, they even sanitised the name) blew up and dosed most of the UK with Caesium-131. For several weeks following the radiation leak, us kids were barred from drinking contaminated milk (I think thousands of gallons of radioactive milk were dumped into disused coal mines).
